Accucraft Wren 5" Zoll Live Steam
MaxiTrak – Wren is a 5” narrow gauge saddle tank locomotive with an open cab and running board
coal bunkers were mounted on the locomotives. These popular, small but powerful locomotives were frequently used in industry and therefore some examples still survive today. These include the well-known and widely traveled 'PETER PAN', the equally famous 'PIXIE', and 'LORNA DOONE', a much-used machine that was saved from being scrapped.
In addition to the list of known preserved examples of this series of industrial locomotives, the Falklands War led to the surprising discovery of the remains of two Wrens of the “early type” (works numbers 2388 & 2392).
These 600 mm gauge locomotives were shipped to the Falkland Islands during the Great War of 1914–1918 to help build a powerful radio transmitter.
The model parts are manufactured in Japan, while final assembly and packaging take place in China.
